Privacy Policy

Effective November 3, 2026

Starjar is made by Crest Systems, operated by Oddsphere, LLC. This policy covers the Starjar apps for iPhone, iPad and Android and the game at playstarjar.com.

The game used to be at merge.griffinsalvador.com. If you open that address, your browser brings your saved progress along to playstarjar.com inside the link itself. That part of a link stays in your browser and is never sent to us.

Your progress stays on your device

The apps play offline. Your saved jar, scores, discoveries, constellations, Daily Jar history and sound preferences are stored on your device. Starjar doesn't require an account and has no advertising. The apps send scores for the rankings described below. They don't record your games.

The web game stores the same kinds of progress in your browser's local storage. Progress isn't synced between the apps, browsers or devices. Your device or browser's own backup services may include this data, depending on your settings.

Starjar rankings

The Daily Jar and all-time rankings have a shared top 10. When you finish a jar, return to the menu or open a ranking while online, the app or website sends us your best score and a random player ID created on your device. Daily scores also include the jar's date. We give that ID a generated name, like Quiet Comet, and show it with your score on the ranking. Offline, nothing is sent. Your best is retried when you return online.

The player ID isn't linked to your name, email, Apple ID, Google account, device identifiers or any advertising ID. It isn't part of the game recordings described below. You can swap your generated name from the ranking at any time.

Game Center on iPhone and iPad

You can choose to sign in to Apple's Game Center to use its daily and all-time leaderboards. Starjar sends your best scores to Apple, which shows them with your Game Center nickname. Signing in is optional. If you've signed in, scores that couldn't be sent offline are retried when you return. Game Center doesn't sync your saved jar or collection. Apple's privacy policy applies to its service.

The Android app

The Android app is the same game as the website, packaged to run from files on your phone or tablet. Its saves stay on the device. The app itself connects to the internet only for the rankings above: it sends your random player ID, your best scores and the Daily Jar's date, and receives the generated name we gave that ID and the top 10. It has no ads, no analytics, no Google sign-in and no game recordings. Support and privacy links open in your browser.

Game recordings on the website

When you play on this website, the page sends a recording of each game to Crest Arcade's server. Crest Arcade is our collection of games at crestarcade.com.

A recording is a list of your moves, not a video. It holds where you dropped each planet and when. It also holds the game's seed and mode, the game version, the date and how the game ended, such as the jar filling up or the page closing. Unless the page was closed, it also holds the final score and totals: drops, merges, the largest body reached, black holes, Big Bangs and the longest chain.

We use recordings to replay and test the game, to improve it, and to build automated players that test our games.

Recordings don't identify you. They don't include an account, your name, the Daily Jar player ID or any ID stored on your device. Like any web request, sending one gives the server your IP address, which may appear in its operational logs. It isn't saved with the recording.

We may also share, license or sell recordings to other companies, including companies that research, build, train or test AI systems. A recording shows how a person really plays, which is what automated players get compared against. A shared recording holds only what this section lists. We don't try to find out who played a recording, and anyone we share recordings with must agree not to try either. This covers games played from October 30, 2026. Games recorded before then are only used to replay, test and improve our games.

The iPhone, iPad and Android apps don't record your games. The website doesn't record them if your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal.

When you visit the website

The website uses web hosting and Cloudflare to serve pages and protect the service. Those services process connection information such as your IP address, browser information and requested page, and may keep operational logs. This also applies when an app sends a ranking score or you open a support or privacy link from an app. We don't use that information to build advertising profiles.

Cloudflare describes its handling of website visitor data in its privacy policy. The game has no third-party advertising or analytics.

Sharing and support

Sharing a result opens your device's share sheet. You choose where it goes, and that service's privacy policy applies. Sharing doesn't upload anything to us.

If you email support, we receive your email address and anything you choose to send, such as a screenshot or a description of a problem. We use it to answer your request and maintain support records. Please don't send passwords or other sensitive information.

Keeping and deleting information

Local progress stays until you delete an app, clear its storage or clear the website's stored data. System backups may retain a copy under your backup settings. We can't retrieve or delete a save on your device remotely, and clearing it can permanently remove your progress.

Ranking entries are kept so each day's ranking stays complete. If you'd like yours removed, email us the name the ranking shows for you.

Game recordings don't identify anyone, so we may keep them indefinitely. For the same reason, we can't find yours to remove it.

We keep support correspondence for as long as needed to handle the request and maintain related records. Email us to request access, correction or deletion of information you've sent us. We'll explain any records we need to retain.

Contact and changes

For privacy questions, contact [email protected]. If Starjar's data practices change, we'll update this policy and its effective date.
